Fueltone at the Japanese Car Show in Knockhill
Fueltone’s Regional Sales Manager, Cameron attended the Japanese Car Show at Knockhill over the weekend; and as a added bonus it was also rounds 4 and 5 of Superlap Scotland! The Fueltone team had a trade stand and were accompanied by our guests, Gordon Motors Suzuki from Crieff.
Chris Cherry was Racing in Class C of Super Lap Scotland and gave an astounding performance as usual, despite a clutch change between races… erm a what Cameron?!
That’s right, a clutch change! Chris’ car drove out for the first warm up session and didn’t even get a lap in before the clutch decided to obliterate itself. We got the car towed back to the paddock and started to strip the car down while we waited for another clutch coming in from Perth! Once the clutch arrived it was all hands on deck to get it built up before qualifying (you cannot race in the final without qualifying). The team had the box out, the new clutch in and box back in the car in around 2.5 hours... along with an ice cream in between!
We went into the qualifying and set a 55.7 second lap early on in the session and although we struggled to get a clear run again, it was enough to get the fastest time in class.
Th lap in the final round seemed a bit sloppy and over pushed but we managed to get first place with a new PB of 55.4 second lap! This now securing the class C 2018 championship with a round to spare.
The team also received the Alzheimers Scotland award for dedication, which we couldn’t have done without Errol and Liam of Clark Automotive. Big thanks to everyone else who helped us out, including various competitors that gave a helping hand/ lending tools, Clark Automotive, Fueltone and RA motorsport.
